FLOTUS Michelle Obama, Style Icon

January 18, 2017

This is not a political post. I repeat. This is not a political post.

With the 2017 Presidential Inauguration fast approaching, it got me thinking about how much I'll miss Michelle Obama in the White House. Politics aside, I think most women would agree she's been a strong female presence and role model with a great sense of style. She's shown us how you can be classy, sexy and confident in both your forties and fifties. Here are some of my favorite looks she's worn over the last eight years.

“I tend not to worry about the trends, because what works for an 18-year-old selfie queen may not for a 52-year-old First Lady who is a mom of teenagers she is trying to be a good role model for.”

Man, she's so pretty. I love all of these outfits. I think the jewel tone looks are my favorite, like the sapphire blue, bright red, and teal green. She wears color really well.

I have to say, there were some dresses in the early days (mostly pre-election) that had me seriously doubting her sense of style. But that quickly improved and I agree that she really has an amazing closet. And can I just say...I know I'm supposed to love the gowns and the jewel tones (and I do!) but my favorite of these is actually the yellow flowery dress. It's so cute and fun.

Great post! She is perfection! I love everything about her. I don't think any first lady since Jackie has had such amazing style. I'm sure Melania will bring it too, but I don't want to talk about that. Ha!
