3 Must-Have Brow Products, Great for Beginners

November 8, 2017

It's funny how beauty trends change. I can remember plucking and waxing my brows like crazy when I was younger. Thick eyebrows were not desired at all. Now, at 38, I don't even need to wax. After years of hair removal, my brows no longer grow in like they should. So these days, I find myself filling in my brows to make them look fuller than they actually are. It's honestly become an obsession. Trying to get them to look just right. Trying to get them to look identical. A friend recently told me that your eyebrows don't have to be twins, they just need to be sisters. I still spend every morning trying to make sure mine are twins. It's quite the daunting task at times, but I'm getting better at it. I've tried numerous products, but the three I'm sharing with you today are my favorites. They're all from Benefit. I discovered their makeup line five or six years ago and fell in love.

1. Benefit Goof Proof Brow Pencil
I use this pencil to fill in my brows. It has a wide tip to fill and shape and a pointed edge to define the tail. It's a great tool for beginners because it's so easy to use. And it cleans off easily with a makeup wipe if you need to start over. It also comes with a brow brush so you can keep any stray hairs tamed. Another plus, it's available in 6 different shades.

2. Benefit Brow Zings Tame & Shape Kit
I use this wax and powder duo to set my brows. I buy it in a shade lighter than my natural brow color. This helps to tone down the color instead of enhancing my already dark brows. This kit comes with a dual-ended brush and a mini pair of tweezers. It's also available in 6 different shades.

3. Benefit High Brow Highlight & Lift Pencil
I use this pencil to complete my brow look. It's basically a brow lift in a pencil. It accentuates your arches and gives you brighter-looking eyes. It comes in a linen-pink shade that easily blends to work with all skintones.

I have the Tame & Shape Kit but I make a mess every time. I can only handle a pencil. And I've tried a clear wax pencil, but it smears my colored pencil. Now I spray a little hairspray on a brow wand and comb through and it stays all day. I'm a disaster! LOL!
